🎉 Happy Cinco de Mayo! I hope your weekend was filled with lots of fun celebrations. If you’re feeling spontaneous today, why not make a quick trip to Catalina Island? The Catalina Museum for Art & History is hosting their Annual Cinco de Mayo Celebration, perfect for soaking in the island's rich culture & history. And no, it’s not to be confused with the Catalina wine mixer.

For anyone sticking around LA & craving some amazing Mexican food, here are a few of my favorite spots:

• Holbox in South L.A. (don’t miss the smoked kanpachi taco)

• Isla Bonita in Venice (ceviche is a must)

• Bootleg Tacos in Venice (try everything)

• Playita Mariscos in Silver Lake (best fried fish)

• Casablanca in Venice (go for the vibes).

As we now approach Mother’s Day, there are some fantastic events to explore in this week’s edition. For a fun outing, check out the Ivy Station Mother’s Day Night Market or the Mother’s Day Music Festival at the Michelle Obama Sports Complex. If you're after something a bit more refined, enjoy an exclusive Mother’s Day High Tea at the Toshizo Watanabe Culinary Cultural Center.
